Apple will introduce the iPhone 3G to new countries this month. The latest iPhone will be selling in 20 additional countries by August 22.
Apple introduced the iPhone 3G on July 11 in 21 countries; France became the 22nd country to sell the revamped smart phone on July 17. A strong demand for the device is reported. 1 million iPhones are solded in the first weekend of the release.

Apple announced the new iPhone 3G which combines all the features of iPhone with 3G networking, built-in GPS, and iPhone 2.0 software that supports Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync and runs hundreds of third party applications built with the iPhone SDK. iPhone 3G comes in two models: an 8GB model priced at $199 and a 16GB model at $299. The new smartphone will be available in 22 countries on July 11.
"Twice as fast" and "Half the price", underlines Apple on their home page.
Apple iPhone 3G release is waiting in early June.
Telecom Italia is launching iPhone in Italy, in June. TI vice president Luigi Licciardi said, “We will be selling an iPhone with 3G capability next month”.
A developer from Chronic Productions notes that there's a mention of 3G in latest iPhone software.
Also he says that using 3G decreases battery life.
3G iPhone Details: "Radically Different"
"...the device will have a "radically different" appearance to the current device, which has a 4.5 inch screen and slick, aluminium backing. Among the possibilities are flip version, which would enable the screen to be larger, and a sliding model with a regular qwerty keyboard - as opposed to a touchscreen one."
